FORCE MITIGATION

I designed the shape and compression straps of the running pack to counteract the upward, downward, and lateral forces from running.

FINE-TUNED FIT

For the force mitigation to be applied optimally the pack required fine-tuned fit adjustments across the upper torso and shoulders.

RAPID PROTOTYPING

I constructed a prototype to test various configurations of the compression straps and shoulder strap adjustments. I was quickly able to narrow down the optimal design that controlled and balanced the load when running.

ERGONOMICS

I designed the back panel to maximize surface area contact on the runner’s back. This creates less abrasion points, spreads the load evenly, and mitigates forces from running.

PROTOTYPE TESTING

Note that the running forces (upward, downward, and lateral) are controlled by the V-shaped compression straps and ergonomic fit.
